I’m a graphic designer who is passionate about creating impactful and straightforward designs to empower, connect, and educate people through print and digital products and layouts. My interest in design originated from my yearbook class five years ago. My organizational skills were put to work and challenged despite having templates ready for us to use. With the workload and edits done during that time, I was committed to sharpening my skills even more in college. Now, I am highly-skilled in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and I have experience with UX/UI programs such as Sketch and Invision.
My personality had always pushed me to be an independent worker, but through experiences in school and the real world, I realized that I could be a great team player. I am also a natural-born observant. I only voice out my opinion concerning the work, analyze it, and give feedback to help the entire team. In addition to that, I pay close attention to detail. I have a quick and keen eye for seeing when things are misaligned. Call me crazy, but I believe that’s my asset.
My interest currently lies in designing items that I can sell with my creative
abilities, especially during the pandemic where work-from-home is highly
recognized, time-efficient, and surprisingly doable. My creative processes and work ethics are still the same regardless of where I am at, so I’m always looking forward to projects that are engaging and purpose-driven, so create with me!
I am a Graphic Communications major, with a minor in Film, ready to graduate in May 2021 from Kennesaw state University. I have a passion for bringing both my, and other’s, vision to life. I find myself unrestrained in experimenting with several mediums and enjoy design and expression in all its forms. Beyond graphic design I enjoy illustration, photography, motion graphics, and other traditional art forms.
My favorite aspect of graphic design is practical application of art for sales, service, and entertainment. I love the way artistic expression and technical precision come together to create something both visually appealing and functional.
With 5 years of military experience under my belt before returning to school, I have discovered I am a very results-driven, detail-oriented person who works well under pressure. My ultimate goal is to apply my skills to the entertainment industry. I feel that movies and television tend to have a huge impact on society, even if they are just escapism, especially in such a media-driven age.
As a person with eclectic tastes in movies, music, and art, I draw inspiration from everything I come in contact with. I love drawing on the past in my design and referencing history to inform the future. I believe in the interconnectedness of everything in our world from politics to education to enjoyment, and believe great art and great design draws on this interconnectedness.
I am a senior at Kennesaw State University set to graduate in Spring 2021 receiving a BFA with a concentration in Graphic Communications. From a young age to college, I have been very grateful for the support of mentors and influences throughout my journey of becoming a graphic designer. As a Student Assistant for the College of Art and Design and the 2020-21 Vice President of the Graphic Design Club at KSU, I hope that the knowledge I have gained from others has made an impact when sharing it with my peers.
Thanks to the opportunities given to me, such as the Master Craftsman Program, I have used my skill-set not only to create two-dimensional work but also graphic design imagery for other mediums. These mediums such as three-dimensional sculptures used in public works around the metro-Atlanta area. As a hard-working individual, I am able to present creative ideas and solutions. Specializing in brand identity, packaging design, and typography, these capabilities have allowed me to gain proficiency in creating professional and unique designs.
Born and raised in Georgia, I have seen a large, social and cultural influence in my life through the form of art. Places and important people have given me inspiration to continue to grow and become a prominent part of the graphic design industry & community. Even with the many mediums of art, I appreciate the expressiveness in design. I believe graphic design is a form of communicating a message and I can only anticipate that one day my work can make a difference.
As a Graphic Designer I work hard to visually communicate to target audiences through each of my designs. I focus strongly on concept design and development in print and digital media. I believe that diversity is very important for an artist, and that art and design is about communication and making connections between people. My passion is for print and publication design. I have discovered this passion while studying graphic communications here at Kennesaw State University. Although my main passion is for print design, I am also passionate about web and UX design.
My design work focuses on communication and attention to detail. I love to work with clients to help build and grow their businesses and visual identities. While working in the graphic design field for the last 3 years I was able to explore different ways of communicating through print materials, website design, and social media. The work in my portfolio shows my expertise in visual communication and design skills.
The best thing about graphic design is the opportunity to express and explore my own ideas. There are no restrictions on my imagination and it allows me the freedom to experiment and grow as a designer. Each experience gives me a better understanding of visual communication and the design process. Typography, iconography, and photography are extremely important for every product, because each one is a source of information and a way of communicating with the public. These elements of design allow me to express an idea in a visually appealing way that provides information and allows the audience to receive the message in a clever, entertaining, and visually interesting way.
Davis Henderson is a senior at Kennesaw State University graduation with a B.F.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Communications. He believes graphic design is an art form that seeds its way into almost every aspect of day-to-day life and is driven to create and innovate in both his classes and the freelance work he completes. From local mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies, Davis believes graphic design is essential to communicating in a way that effectively engages the target audience, and he is passionate about the challenge of creating work that can be integrated through print and digital media in everyday life.
Alongside the graphic program at KSU, Davis has developed the logo and brand materials for local companies such as Cheez’d & Confuzed and Secret River Sounds. The skills in learning the Adobe Suite, layout design, packaging design, etc. gained at KSU have been instrumental in his freelance success. After he graduates, Davis wants to continue building a freelance career or find work in the corporate design world.
As a person with a wide variety of interests, Mr. Henderson draws inspiration from the entire world around him. These interests include movies, music, baseball, video games, and cooking. He believes that design is everywhere, whether it’s motion graphics on a jumbotron or cover at on the next box office hit, and if you open your eyes to it, you can learn and grow at all times.
I am a Graphic Designer and Visual Artist based in Atlanta, Georgia, about to graduate from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Communications. In my time at Kennesaw, I have been able to explore many different majors including computer science, interaction design, and environmental engineering. While all of these majors were very interesting, I knew they were not a passion of mine. While studying abroad in Italy for computer science, a light bulb went off in my head when I realized my true passion. I realized that I was most interested in the visual world around me and how effective the visual world was. I like to think about graphic design as the behind the scenes to the movie we call life. Ultimately, I developed a passion for design and the hook between the viewer and design is what captivated me the most. Being a detail-oriented person with a strong work ethic, I am dedicated to visually communicating ideas and meanings successfully in the most creative way possible.
As I enter the industry of graphic design, I am most looking forward to being able to connect to people and affect people on a daily basis through design. Whether it is a print ad or a digital marketing campaign, I am eager to influence the world around me for the better. In a world that is constantly changing, I believe it is vital to be able to have designers to keep things in order. As I grow into my career, I will always be seeking new opportunities to learn and progress my skill set. No matter the situation or client, I will always strive for excellence in my designs because I understand the effect they can have on the world.

I am a graphic designer and artist and have identified as such for most of my life. I have always been crafty and had a good eye for art and design. Furthering my education has taught me a lot about how to create art and the different methods used which has helped me to hone my skills and be able to use them in a better way. I have grown and progressed during my time at Kennesaw State University and have learned so much about not only art and design but also myself and how I want to continue my work once I have graduated.
As an artist, I have always been drawn to art and how it functions in society. It is extremely interesting to me how a piece of art can be seen in a plethora of different ways based on an individual’s perspective and experience. The goal of my work is to evoke emotion from the audience and for my work to have a lasting impression on whoever is seeing it. Functionality is important to me as well; I want to create my art with intention and meaning instead of it being purely for decoration.
I’m Karsten Nebiker, a graphic designer living in the Atlanta area. My passion for design has ran for as long as I can remember. Whether it was selling my comic books at recess or designing logos for my friend’s amateur rock band, if it required creativity, I would get my hands on it. It probably runs in the family, since I am inspired by my dad to follow his footsteps as a designer. With four years of education at Kennesaw State University, I’m proficient in creating engaging and dynamic designs with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Throughout my time in college, I have been a part of multiple internships and freelance experiences. I enjoy working on multiple types of visual designs, ranging anywhere from logos to videos.
I am a graphic designer graduating from Kennesaw State University in May 2021 with a BFA in the concentration of Graphic Communications. Using the skills I have learned through the years at KSU, I feel confident to work for clients and give them precisely the idea they are looking for, whether it’s a brand, a packaging design, or a social media advertisement.
After years of struggling of who I wanted to be and choosing other majors that did not fit my personality, I decided to be a graphic designer. I sought out to be a creator so I could show the world my art simply with a logo, publication, or photograph. I also wanted to assist individuals and make their idea into a reality using the skills I have learned throughout the years. Expressing my creativity daily by choosing color palettes and selecting imagery and type is the “out of the box” challenge I want every day.
As I move on from school and start a career, my goal will be to show off art that is creatively inspiring and attention-grabbing. With devotion and passion, I will strive to exceed client expectations. While I will always have the client’s considerations in mind, I will also work for what is best for the target audience so they feel connected to the piece being shown.
Though I am experienced with numerous skills as a designer such as packaging design, web design, and motion graphics, I am most excited working in layout and publication design, as you can see in most of my works. I enjoy using the key elements such as hierarchy, alignment, typography, etc. to produce something that people can appreciate and read.
Learning how to be a professional designer over the years has been an opportunity that I am very grateful for and I will continue to learn as the graphic design occupation keeps evolving. I am excited to see where this field will take me.
I am a student at Kennesaw State University on track to graduate with a BFA concentrating in Graphic Communications in May of 2021. My interest in graphic design began during my freshman year of high school and I have been inspired to grow as a designer ever since. My graphic design teacher in high school had a very huge impact on me and encouraged me to explore all of the things that make up graphic design. This encouraged me to move forward and further my understanding of design software and the creative process that is required for quality design, as a student at KSU.
From designing company logos to working with package design, during my time as a student I have made it a point to fully explore a wide range of design to grow as a professional. My portfolio contains a wide range of works to show my versatility as a designer as well as my ability to produce professional quality work. Some of my design strengths are within print and web design, and package design but I am open to exploring any and all mediums in the realm of design. As a detail-oriented individual, it is very important to me to design within parameters specified by the client which often pushes me to explore new things and come up with new ways of problem solving. I am always learning as a designer and an artist, which I find to be one of the most rewarding aspects of working as a graphic designer.
Communication is an incredibly important part of the design process and I plan to effectively utilize these skills in the professional world. Combined with my experience in the software applications within the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), I can face new creative challenges with versatile artistic solutions. I also possess many professional qualities that allow me to be versatile, adaptable, and dependable in any environment. I can handle many projects at a time, I welcome all constructive criticism whenever I can get it, and I take pride in my willingness to act as a team player or leader when given the opportunity.
