Enjoy a full week of in-person immersion in your choice of Acting, Musical Theatre, or Theatre Design and Technology! We are excited to give you the opportunity to experience technical and artistic growth in an environment that fosters creativity and learning.

Our three concentrations will be separate, but will come together at several points each day, culminating in a spectacular performance at the end of the week featuring the integration of all the concentrations.

  • After what we’ve all been through over the past 2 years, we are all eager to connect to one another. Logistically, this translates to material that is scene-work based (rather than solo performance or “audition cuts”). For acting, this will include scene work, with small groups – 2+ people in each group. Both performance-based intensives will include technique-based sessions that focus on warm-up skills as well as voice, dance, and acting exercises for personal growth.

  • After what we’ve all been through over the past 2 years, we are all eager to connect to one another. Logistically, this translates to material that is scene-work based (rather than solo performance or “audition cuts”). For musical theatre, this means two group numbers (opening and closing) and duets, trios, quartets, etc. that include scene into song! Both performance-based intensives will include technique-based sessions that focus on warm-up skills as well as voice, dance, and acting exercises for personal growth.
  • Join us for an exciting week learning all about different aspects of theatre design and technology and working backstage.  We will focus on a variety of aspects of working backstage in the theatre throughout the week.  Students will work in a variety of disciplines including: scenic, costume, lighting, props, stage management and sound.  Days will be largely composed of hands-on work in the various shops, theatres, and classroom spaces of Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies.  You can use this week as an opportunity to dip your toes in the water of many different aspects of technical theatre and design and get more experience if you’ve already begun your exploration of backstage work.
