Welcome to the College of the Arts’ Summer Arts programs! These one-week, non-residential programs are perfect for young artists who are serious about honing their craft and learning more about what it is like to pursue college-level work in the arts. We invite you to explore our offerings and experience the arts at KSU. 

The cost is $295 for the week and includes lunch each day. Please register as early as possible as many of these intensives fill up quickly.

  • The KSU Summer Musical Theatre Intensive offers a one-week, non-residential program for high school students who are serious about honing the necessary skills to perform in musical theatre on the collegiate level. Acting, dance and vocal skills workshops will be led by KSU faculty and local professionals.

    The week-long sessions will culminate in a musical theatre presentation performed by the workshop participants. This program is limited to 25 participants, so please register early!

    The intensive is open to rising 9th - 12th grade students and College Freshman.

    *There will be a mandatory check-in and audition on Sunday, June 2nd from 3:30-5:30pm.
    *The intensive runs M-F from 8:30am-4:30pm. Final presentation will be on Friday, June 7 at 3pm.

  • The Summer Acting Intensive 2019 will be delightfully and deftly devoted to Improvisation Games and Techniques! Led by KSU’s own Tad Cameron, the week of June 3 will explore challenging antics that culminate in a dynamic IMPROV demonstration for friends and family on Friday, June 7 in conjunction with the Musical Theatre Intensive.

  • The KSU Summer Visual Art Intensive offers a one-week, non-residential program for high school students interested in the visual arts. Students will choose a concentration such as painting, photo/video, sequential art, electronic illustration, mixed media, sculpture or historical studio practices (with focus on art history and drawing) with KSU faculty and students.

    The intensive is designed to help students further develop their skills and creativity, and strengthen their portfolios. A pin-up show at the end of the week will highlight student work. The School of Art & Design also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding students who attend the intensive.

    The intensive is open to rising 9th grade students through rising college freshmen.

    Cost of the intensive: $295 and includes lunch in the nationally recognized KSU Dining Commons, Monday-Friday.

    The intensive runs 8:30am-4:30pm each day.

  • The KSU Summer Dance Intensive offers a non-residential program for high school students and rising KSU Freshmen who want the opportunity to experience technical and artistic growth in an environment that fosters creativity and learning.

    Students will study with dance professors at KSU and experience a myriad of dance classes, such as modern, ballet, African, jazz, choreography, and dance history.
    Faculty will stage choreographic repertory that will be performed by the students in a concert at the end of the intensive. The Department of Dance at KSU also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding high school seniors who attend the intensive.

    The cost of the intensive is only $295 and includes lunch each day.
    The hours are 8:30am-4:30pm.

  • The week-long, summer music institute (9:00pm - 5pm each day) hosted by the Kennesaw State University School of Music will immerse students in an exploration of music performance through a wide variety of instructional and interactive activities. Open to rising high school freshmen through graduating high school seniors, this experience is specifically designed to improve individual and group musical performance.

    • The cost for the 2019 Summer Music Intensive is $345 per student and includes lunch each day.
    • The camp is offered for band, orchestra, choir, piano, and jazz students.

    Summer Music Institute highlights include:

    • Fun and engaging sessions that explore a variety of musical styles
    • Individual instruction from our exceptional faculty in small group settings
    • Performance experience in brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestra, choir, and jazz
    • Recitals featuring Kennesaw State students and faculty each day
    • Culminating concert featuring all participants
    • Scholarship consideration for rising seniors planning to major in music at Kennesaw State
