School of Music Degrees and Concentrations
The School of Music at Kennesaw State is an incredibly dynamic place to produce and study music in a creative atmosphere. Our engaging professors are dedicated, vibrant, working professionals who are completely devoted to teaching, performing, scholarship, and serving our community.

Apply and Audition

Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the School of Music offers three degrees as well as a music minor:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Music The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music degree is offered with concentrations in Applied Studies, Composition, Ethnomusicology (the study of world music and culture), Music Theory (the study of musical structure and interpretation), and Musicology (the study of music history and culture).
  • Bachelor of Music in Music Education The Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Music Education degree is offered with concentrations in General Music Education, Choral Music Education, Band Music Education, and Orchestra Music Education.
  • Bachelor of Music in Performance The Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Performance degree is offered with concentrations in Piano Performance, Voice Performance, Instrumental Performance, and Jazz Performance.
  • Minor in Music The KSU School of Music offers an 18-credit Music Minor for students. The School of Music approves all music minors and advises students as to all specific requirements of the minor.
