Welcome from the Interim Director of the School of Music
Welcome to the School of Music at Kennesaw State University
We offer a world class education… training future performers, music educators, and
leaders in the field of the arts. With over 270 music majors in three-degree programs––Bachelor
of Arts in Music; Bachelor of Music in Music Performance; and Bachelor of Music in
Music Education––our programs and students stand out as the forerunners for the next
generation of great musical artists.
We pride ourselves on our students’ accomplishments: from successfully acing their
first theory exams to perfecting the perfect sound on their recitals, and to signing
a contract for their first real jobs!
The KSU School of Music has a long-standing tradition of student ensemble performances
at state, regional, and national music conferences. Our student ensembles are regularly
featured at prestigious conferences throughout the country, including the Music Educators
National Conference/Georgia Music Educators Conference; National Collegiate Choral
Organization; Southern Division College Band Directors /National Band Association
Conference; and the American Choral Directors Association Southern Divisional and
National Conferences.
Our faculty are dynamic artists-performers-scholars who are conductors, teachers,
composers, researchers, and artists who regularly perform with the Georgia Symphony
Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Chamber Players, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra,
to name a few. With over 80 faculty members, the School of Music offers students access
and one-on-one time with our faculty on campus and in our Study Abroad Programs. The
KSU School of Music is positioned as a leader in music training regionally, nationally,
and internationally.
