The KSU Dance Company is a pre-professional dance company that performs on campus, regionally and nationally. Students who major in dance have the opportunity to audition at the beginning of each semester (fall/spring) to be a part of the company. The mission of the KSU Dance Company is to bring concert dance to the community, as well as serve the mission of education in dance through its outreach performances. The company tours regional venues, performing and educating students about dance as a performing art. Students in the company gain valuable touring experience while serving an important community mission. Members of the KSU Dance Company receive academic credit for performing in season concerts, informal concerts, as well as in community partner projects.

  • Angelita Andrade

    Angelita Andrade

    Angelita is a freshman dance major with a modern concentration. This will be her first semester in the KSU dance company. She began her dance career at the age of 3 at Alpharetta Dance Theatre. At the age of 13 she transferred to Studio 23 and danced in the company for 5 years. She is genuinely excited to continue her love for dance at KSU.

      Isabella Akel

      Isabella is a junior dance major with a ballet concentration. This will be her fourth semester in the KSU dance company. She began dancing at age 4 in Little Rock, Arkansas at a studio called Dance Dynamics. She was a part of their company till she graduated high school in 2016. Isabella is very well rounded when it comes to dance and she likes to combine ballet and hip-hop in her movement style. She is very excited to be a part of the 2018 dance company.

       

      • Dixie Boston

        Dixie Boston

        Dixie is a senior at Kennesaw State as a dance major with a focus in classical ballet, as well as a double major in foreign languages, specializing in French and Spanish. She received her training at Valdosta School of Dance, where she was taught fundamental techniques of classical ballet and modern. Dixie is currently employed by the Atlanta Ballet as a desk associate. She is honored and excited to be participating in her fourth semester as a member of the KSU dance company. She would also like to thank Professor O'Kelley for the opportunity to work as his assistant this semester as she recovers from a serious injury.

         

        • Ethan Brasseaux

          Ethan Brasseaux

          Ethan is a third-year dance major this year at Kennesaw State University. Ethan comes from Elite Dance Academy, Inc. in Phenix City, Alabama, where he was a part of the competition company. Ethan has trained in jazz, tap, musical theatre, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, modern, and jazz funk! Currently, Ethan teaches various classes at Studio 55 Dance. Aside from dance, musical theatre is a huge part of his life. This is his fifth consecutive semester performing in the company and he hopes to be a part of the KSU Dance Company for many years to come!

           

          • Olivia Bryant

            Olivia Bryant

            Olivia is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in modern dance. She previously studied with Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts and Price Performing Arts Center. This is Olivia’s third semester with the company, and she is thrilled to perform!

             

            • Gabrielle Duncan

              Gabrielle Duncan

              Gabrielle Duncan is currently a senior at Kennesaw State University. She is a Dance Major with a concentration in modern and is also a business management major. This is her fourth semester being in the KSU dance company and is planning to choreograph a piece for the Spring Semester Show. Gabrielle Duncan hopes that after graduation she will use the skills and knowledge she gained from KSU to one day own her own professional dance company.

                Hope Duncan

                Hope is freshman Dance and Exercise Science major at KSU. She received her training from Dance Dynamics Studio and was a part of their company for 6 years. Hope is excited to be in the Kennesaw company for her first semester and experience what the dance program has to offer.

                 

                • Lindsey Duncan

                  Lindsey Duncan

                  Lindsay Duncan is a senior at Kennesaw State University majoring in business and dance. While she has been a student, she has had the honor to be part of the dance company for three semesters and production for one semester. In the past, she has had the opportunity to take her work, "Oxytocin" to the American College Dance Association in the Spring of 2018. She has also attended the National ACDA conference in D.C. Lindsay is thrilled to be part of an amazing cast and crew for her final year.

                   

                  • Monika Eisenheim

                    Monika Eisenheim

                    Monika is a Senior Dance Major (ballet concentration) with a German Studies Minor. She is currently an active officer for the KSU National Honors Society for Dance Arts and is excited to pursue her third semester as a KSU Dance Company member. One highlight of her varying training background is that she has examined with high commendation through Cecchetti Intermediate/Advanced 1 syllabus (grade 6). She has also had the opportunity to travel internationally for dance with Atlanta Professional Dance Academy (under the direction of Wei Dongsheng). Monika is looking forward to all opportunities the future may hold!

                      Nina Eisenheim

                      Nina is a junior dance major, with a ballet concentration. This is her second semester performing in a work by McCree O’Kelley at KSU, and she is thrilled to be a part of such an amazing cast. Nina began dancing at the age of 3 and has most recently trained at Atlanta Professional Dance Academy under the direction of Wei Dongsheng.

                        Carly Franco

                        Carly is a senior dance major with a Jazz concentration. She has been a part of the KSU dance company for two semesters, as well as Dance Production for one semester during her college career. She grew up dancing competitively for eleven years, and has trained in all styles of dance. She is very excited to be a part of the KSU Dance Company for a third time and cannot wait to see how much she grows as a dancer. 

                         

                        • Avery Gillham

                          Avery Gillham

                          Avery is excited to be back on stage with the KSU Dance Company for his final fall semester. He is a Kennesaw native and grew up dancing at Great Gig Dance Company. Avery can be seen around Atlanta working with theaters such as Atlanta Lyric and City Springs Theater. He has previously been seen in West Side Story, Young Frankenstein, Beauty and the Beast, and 42nd Street. He thanks his family and friends for all their support!

                            Chaes Hatfield

                            Chaes Hatfield is a freshman at KSU and is majoring in dance with a concentration in modern. This is his first time on the KSU company. He started his dance training at a young age, starting at his own mother’s studio. He has received numerous scholarship opportunities and two dancer of the year awards at the American Dance Awards. In his free time, he enjoys spending time in the studio and hanging out with his friends and family. He is very thrilled to be a part of the KSU dance company.

                             

                            • Bailey Harbaugh

                              Bailey Harbaugh

                              Bailey Harbaugh is a senior Dance Major with a modern concentration at Kennesaw State University. She received her primary training at Buford School of Ballet, where she was taught the fundamental techniques of classical ballet and modern dance. Upon moving to Atlanta for school, she has had the opportunity to work with Gotta Dance Contemporary Atlanta, and as of late, ImmerseATL, Fly on a Wall, and intern with Staibdance. Her latest accomplishment culminated in a study abroad program in Tel Aviv, Israel with KSU in residence with the Batsheva Dance Company. Bailey is thrilled to be spending her seventh consecutive semester as a member of the KSU Dance Company.

                                Michaela Heide

                                Michaela Heide is a junior dance major at Kennesaw State University. This is her 5th consecutive semester in the KSU dance company. Although she is a ballet concentration, she is excited to branch out this year and perform in a modern piece.

                                  Lily Helmly

                                  Lily Helmly is a third-year dance major with a ballet concentration. This her fourth semester in the KSU dance company and she has also been a part of the production crew for a semester. This year, she has the privilege of serving as president of the KSU chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Lily is thrilled to be a part of the company and cannot wait to see what's in store!

                                   

                                  • Kaitlyn Hooper

                                    Kaitlyn Hooper

                                    Katie is an Atlanta native who grew up at a local competition dance studio. After 15 years of training, she went on to study with Cherrise Wakeham in Project 7 Dance Company. She also trains with the Radio City Rockettes during their summer intensive each year. While taking a break from dance, Katie became a collegiate cheerleader here at KSU and brought home a National Championship title last year. Katie also found her love for teaching young dancers and is now teaching at Rhythm Dance Center in Marietta. She is very excited to officially come out of dance retirement and honored to be a part of the KSU Dance Company for the first time.

                                     

                                    • Payton Horton

                                      Payton Horton

                                      Originally from Warner Robins, Ga, Payton Horton is a Senior Dance Major with a concentration in Ballet. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern and contemporary since she was 3 years old at International City School of Ballet. She has been a company member of KSU Dance in 2015, 2016, and now 2018. In 2014, she was granted, by the dance department, the KSU Freshman Scholarship award. She has performed in various competitions and won several awards across the USA. She’s is overly thrilled to have the chance to dance with the KSU Dance Company for another season and can’t wait to see how she grows.

                                       

                                      • Amber Kirchner

                                        Amber Kirchner

                                        Amber Kirchner is a Senior Dance Major at Kennesaw State University with a concentration in modern. This Fall will be her seventh consecutive semester performing as a member with the KSU Dance Company. Over the summer Amber had the opportunity to perform in the American College Dance Association National Conference at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as a cast member of “Suspended Vision” choreographed by Professor Lisa Lock, as well as travel to Tel Aviv and study Gaga and Batsheva repertory at the Suzanne Delal Center. Amber is ecstatic for the new season to train and perform again with the KSU Dance Company and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2019.

                                          Darvensky Louis

                                          Darvensky Louis is a Junior at Kennesaw State University. This is his fifth semester with the company. He is a dance major and is also a modern concentration. He has had the opportunity to film and dance for some major dance companies like Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre and Gotta Dance Contemporary. Darvensky is excited and ready for a challenging semester with the Kennesaw dance company.

                                           

                                          • This is Valerie's fourth semester performing with the KSU Dance Company. She is a Junior Dance Major, modern concentration, and Business Law Minor.  She attended Southern Performing Arts Academy, directed by Alicia and Brandon Chitwood, and danced in their company, Southern Ballet Theatre for 5 years. Valerie and her studio also participated and performed at South East Regional Ballet Association (SERBA). She is very excited to continue her journey with the KSU dance company.

                                            This is Valerie's fourth semester performing with the KSU Dance Company. She is a Junior Dance Major, modern concentration, and Business Law Minor.  She attended Southern Performing Arts Academy, directed by Alicia and Brandon Chitwood, and danced in their company, Southern Ballet Theatre for 5 years. Valerie and her studio also participated and performed at South East Regional Ballet Association (SERBA).                                               Christina Massad

                                              Christina Massad is the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Senior in Dance Award and will graduate this December with a B.A. in Dance and a B.S. in Media Studies and Entertainment. During her previous 5 semesters with the KSU Dance Company, Christina has danced in 3 international guest-artists' works. Her own choreographic work, "is rael i" was selected to perform in the KSU Dance Company's 2018 Spring Concert. As an Apprentice and Integrated Content Creator for Fly on a Wall, she plans to purse dance as a career after graduation.

                                               

                                              • Mckenzie Maxey

                                                Mckenzie Maxey

                                                Mckenzie is freshman at Kennesaw State University majoring in dance with a modern concentration but is also proficient in many other styles. McKenzie originally trained at West cobb dance Explosion as a competition dancer, later on she earned a professional role in a professional contemporary company called Gotta Dance Contemporary. She is very honored to be a part of the KSU dance company and cannot wait for more opportunities to come!

                                                  Madeline Moore

                                                  Madeline Moore is a second year at Kennesaw State. While she has been here she has had the opportunity to attend the national American College Dance Association conference in DC. This is her third semester in the dance company and is excited to work with our new professor.

                                                    Bailey Jo Padgett is a third year Dance Major with a modern concentration at Kennesaw State University. She studied at The Alabama School of Fine Arts for six years.                                                       Katie Patrick

                                                      Katie is a freshman dance major with a concentration in Ballet. She trained at the Dance Theatre of Dalton for 14 years, and taught for 4 years, before coming to Kennesaw State.  This is her first time being on crew for the KSU Dance Company, and she is so excited to be a part of a great show!

                                                        Andries Payne

                                                        Andries Payne is in his first year at Kennesaw State University as a dance major. His concentration is in modern but he is also proficient in other styles. Although born in Sacramento, California, he considers Atlanta his hometown. He has worked with companies such as AREA Dance Company and Gotta Dance Contemporary where he studies tap, ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz. His favorite two genres are ballet and contemporary.

                                                          Hoke Payne

                                                          Hoke Payne is a junior dance major with a modern concentration. This is his second semester dancing with the KSU dance company and his first semester as a dance major. He began his dance career at the age of 9 at Rhythm Academy in Toccoa, GA and was a part of their competition company for 10 years, he then danced with Dance FX in Athens, GA briefly before enrolling at Kennesaw State University. Hoke is incredibly excited and honored to be a part of the company this semester and is looking forward to see what his future holds in KSU’s dance department.

                                                            Katherine is a second-year dance major with a concentration in modern. She has trained in various styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, tap, hip hop and jazz.                                                               Erin Ryan is a Sophomore Dance major with a minor in Gender and Women Studies at Kennesaw State University. She has participated in both KSU dance company and production last year.                                                                 This is Veronica's 2nd year as a dance major at KSU and her 3rd semester in the KSU Dance Company. Her dance practice took place at Academy of Ballet and Dancer's Studio Backstage/Atlanta Dance Theatre where she trained in modern, ballet, contemporary, and other forms of dance.                                                                   Amir is a Senior at Kennesaw State. She is a ballet concentration originally from Baltimore, Maryland.                                                                     Jordan is a senior dance major with a concentration in ballet, and recently began pursuing a public relations minor as well. This will be her fifth semester performing with the KSU Dance Company. Jordan was trained in ballet, modern, and jazz for 15 years at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre before coming to KSU.                                                                       Stephanie Still is a senior dance major with a ballet concentration. This fall 2018 semester will be her fifth time in the KSU dance company. Before coming to KSU, she trained at The Roswell Dance Theatre for 13 years.                                                                         Char Tep

                                                                        Char Tep is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University. This is Char's second semester as a Dance major as well as her second consecutive semester in the company. Char previously danced with Sugarloaf Ballet for 11 years. When Char was 14, she underwent a spinal fusion to align her spine and improve her scoliosis. Currently, she is a modern concentration and aspires to be in a contemporary company and choreograph in the future. Char is thrilled to be a part of the KSU Dance Company for another semester!

                                                                          Kelci Walker is a first-year ballet concentration dance major.  She was trained at Columbia County Ballet and Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School since the age of 2. Although ballet is her true love, she is versatile in other styles as well.  She is elated to be a part of the company and looks forward to growing as the semester progresses.

                                                                            Kimberlee Witt

                                                                            Kimberlee is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University. She is a Dance major with a concentration in modern and an Elementary Education major. She started dancing at the age of three and attended high school at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida. This will be Kimberlee’s seventeenth year of dancing and is beyond excited to serve her third consecutive semester on the KSU dance company.

                                                                              Madeline is a sophomore double majoring in dance with a ballet concentration and exercise science. This is her first semester in KSU’s dance company. She trained at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre for 15 years, and spent summers training at the School of American Ballet and Miami City Ballet School. She is so excited to be a part of Kennesaw’s Dance company this semester!

                                                                                Jordan Whitfield

                                                                                Jordan is a freshman dance major with a concentration in modern. She started her dance career at the age of five at Starmaker Dance Company and has been dancing competitively for years. She enjoys teaching young kids in ballet and jazz. She has had opportunities in dance modeling where she has appeared in publications such as Dance Spirit Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and Dance Magazine.

                                                                                  Taylor Wheatley

                                                                                  Taylor is a Junior dance major with a concentration in ballet. She has been dancing for seventeen years and was trained at Chambers Performing Arts in multiple styles of dance. This is her fourth consecutive semester in the Kennesaw State Dance Company and has also been on the production crew for one semester. She is very excited to be a part of the Kennesaw State University Dance Company once again this semester!

                                                                                    Emmi Creamer is a senior at KSU. She is a dance and nursing major with a minor in Spanish.                                                                                       Taylor Gilliam

                                                                                      Taylor Gilliam is a senior Dance major with a concentration in Ballet. She was trained at Steps of Faith from ages 8 to 18 before coming to Kennesaw, and she continues to teach there now as well as Footprints Dance Alliance. This is her second time being on crew for the KSU Dance Company, and she is so excited to help this production come to life!

                                                                                        Sarah Gunter

                                                                                        Sarah Gunter is a senior double majoring in Dance and Exercise Science. She is excited to be serving on the Production Crew for the third semester, and she has also performed with the KSU Dance Company for four semesters. Sarah is also involved with the KSU chapter of the National Honors Society for Dance Arts. Outside of school, Sarah is an active member at Riverstone Church where she serves as a small group leader for the Student Ministry and on the Dance Ministry.

                                                                                          Anna is a freshman and a dance major with a concentration in ballet. This is her first time being part of a production crew and she is excited to learn production skills and experience a performance from the other side of the curtains. She danced previously at Fleetwood Dance Theatre and is so happy to be spending the next four years with KSU dance.

                                                                                            Ashlyn is a junior at KSU who majors in Dance with a modern concentration. She has studied various genres such as ballet, modern, and jazz along with other genres. Ashlyn has trained with Ballethnic Academy of Dance and Metayer Conservatory of The Arts. She also enjoys teaching young students who want to gain as much passion for dance as she does.                                                                                               Sierra is a freshman dance major who is from Chattanooga, Tennessee. She has danced with Center for Creative Arts and Chattanooga Ballet prior to being at Kennesaw State.                                                                                                 Mickel Peace

                                                                                                Mickel is a senior dance major with a modern concentration. This is her first semester with the KSU production crew and she has also been in KSU dance company for a semester. She began dancing at the young age of 6 at Susan’s Dance Studio while also attending Dekalb Elementary School of the Arts majoring in dance and drama. She was also a part of a traveling dance company while at DESA called Shows To Go. Mickel is extremely ecstatic to be a part of the production crew this semester and looking forward to new experiences with KSU dance.

She was born and raised in Nassau, The Bahamas and moved to Georgia to attend Kennesaw State 3 years ago.                                                                                                       Mattie Westbrooks is a freshman and a dance major at Kennesaw. She is so excited to be a part of the dance department and is even more excited for the opportunity to work on crew this year.
