KSU Dance Co.

The KSU Dance Co. is a pre-professional dance company that performs on campus, regionally, and nationally. Students who major in Dance have the opportunity to audition at the beginning of each semester (fall/spring) to be a part of the company. The mission of the KSU Dance Co. is to bring concert dance to the community as well as serve the mission of education in dance through its outreach performances. The company tours regional venues, performing and educating students about dance as a performing art. Students in the company gain valuable touring experience while serving an important community mission. Members of the KSU Dance Co. receive academic credit for performing in season concerts, informal concerts, and in community partner projects.

  • Kennesaw Dancer Dominique Alexander

    Dominique Alexander

    Dominique is a sophomore information security major with a minor in dance. This will be her first semester in the KSU dance company. She is a native of Augusta, GA, where she started at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School as a modern and tap dance student. Dominique is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue her dance studies with KSU dance! 

    • Kennesaw State Dancer Autumn Allen

      Autumn Allen

      Autumn Allen is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University. She is a psychology major as well as a dance minor. She began her journey with dance at the age of 3. After falling in love with the art, she decided to further her commitment with dance. In 2015, Autumn was an understudy for the show, SHE Untethered, under the direction of Cherrise Wakeham in Long Beach, California. She then performed in her first professional show in the Fall performance of SHE Untethered in Atlanta, Georgia. In the summer of 2016, she performed in the show Mutual Core, under the direction of Jon Carr. That same year she danced and acted in various film projects with director Janlatae Mullins. In the fall of 2017, she performed in Jon Carr’s show Bouquet, dancing in the pieces choreographed by Jon Carr and Sarah Allen. She then performed in the show Union also under the direction of Jon Carr in June of 2018. This is her first year performing in the KSU dance show, and she is very excited to be a part of this experience.

      • Kennesaw State Dancer Angelita Andrade

        Angelita Andrade

        Angelita is a second-year dance major with a modern concentration. She began her dance career at the age of 3 at Alpharetta Dance Theatre. When she turned 13, she transferred to Studio 23 and danced in the company for 5 years. This will be her third semester in the KSU dance company. Angelita also enjoys dedicating her time to the KSU dance department as the Co-President of the Student Dance Collective RSO. Angelita is genuinely excited to continue her love and passion for dance at KSU.

        • Kennesaw State Dancer Jordan Bailey

          Jordan Bailey

          Jordan is a sophomore Elementary Education major and dance minor. This is her second semester in the Kennesaw State University Dance Company. She began her dance career at age four as a competition dancer. Through her time competing, she has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, lyrical, pointe, hip-hop, and acrobatics. Throughout her career, she has received many honors and taken classes from a wide range of choreographers. She is so excited to be a part of the dance company for a second time!

          • Kennesaw State Dancer Julia Blair

            Julia Blair

            Julia is a third-year dance major with a ballet concentration. This will be her first semester in the KSU dance company and she is looking forward to expanding her dance resume as she pursues her BA. She began her dance career at the age of 13 at Perimeter Academy of the Arts and was a part of the company there for 2 years. Julia is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the spring 2020 KSU Dance Company.

              Serena Brooks

              Serena is a sophomore Psychology major with a dance minor. This will be second semester in the KSU Dance Company. She began her dance career at the age of 3 at Downtown Dance and was a member of the company there at age 7. Then she moved to Bravo Dance Center where she continued her company career and graduated from their advanced company in 2018. Serena is very excited to spend another semester in the dance company here and is excited to see what the future has in store for her.

                Kayla Brown

                Kayla is a sophomore dance major with a modern concentration. She grew up training in many styles and competing within the southeast region with INSPIRE School for the Arts. This is her second semester dancing with the Dance Company at KSU and she could not be more excited for this opportunity!

                • Kennesaw State Dancer Olivia Bryant

                  Olivia Bryant

                  Olivia Bryant is a third-year student studying Dance and French at Kennesaw State University. She is inspired by the intersection of arts and culture as they relate to activism, diversity, and inclusion. Olivia began dancing at the age of 13 at Art in Motion, and she later attended M.E. Stilwell School of the Arts and Price Performing Arts Center. She has worked with many choreographers including Andrea Knowlton, James Graham, Troy Powell, and Adam Parson. She has also had the honor of representing KSU Dance at the American College Dance Association with her work titled “The Other Side”. Olivia is elated to be performing with the KSU Dance Company for her 5th season.

                  • Kennesaw State Dancer Grace Buckley

                    Grace Buckley

                    Grace is a sophomore dance major with a modern concentration, though she has a heavy background in ballet. She began dancing with the Lilburn School of Ballet when she was 5 and continued her training with their company, Northeast Atlanta Ballet from 2010-2018. This is her third opportunity to perform with the Dance Company at KSU. Here at KSU she is looking to broaden her dance experience and become a well-rounded dancer.

                      Mary Madeline Carden

                      Mary Madeline is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in ballet. This is her first semester in the KSU Dance Company. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, training in all styles of dance. Mary Madeline was a part of Dance Dynamics competition team for 5 years. She is very excited to be a part of KSU’s Dance Company and to see where it takes her in her dance career.

                      • Kennesaw State Dancer Omari Collier

                        Omari Collier

                        Omari is a sophomore at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a B.S. in Media & Entertainment with a minor in Dance. This is his 1st semester in the KSU Dance Company. At the age of 6, he began his dance career at Carla's Dance Factory and was a part of their performing company for 11 years. He also competed in numerous competitions, winning top honor awards at the regional and national level. While attending college, he has had the opportunity to continue his training at Impact Dance of Atlanta. Currently, Omari is an aspiring teacher and choreographer. He is very excited to be a part of the company and looks forward to an incredible semester!

                          Mina Cruise

                          Mina is a sophomore psychology major and dance minor. This will be her first semester in the KSU dance department. She began her dance career at the age of 6 at Susan Chambers Dance Company. She was a part of Dance Arts Center’s company for 2 years prior to coming to KSU. Mina is excited to be a part of the KSU Dance Company and expand her dance career.

                          • Kennesaw State Dancer Kelly DeVries

                            Kelly DeVries

                            Kelly DeVries is a junior at KSU and this is her fourth semester in the KSU Dance Company. She is an Elementary Education major with a dance minor. Kelly began dancing when she was three years old at Dance Arts Centre and continued at this studio until she graduated from high school. She is very excited to be a part of this company again and she is eager to work with her new senior choreographers.

                            • Kennesaw State Dancer Teyla DuBose

                              Teyla Dubose

                              Teyla DuBose’ is a junior dance major with a ballet concentration. This will be her third season in the KSU Dance company. She started her career at a young age of 3 at Stage Door Dance Studio and later joined British Academy of Performing Arts dancing in the company for 10 years. In addition, she was a part of Pebblebrook High school dance program for 4 years and has received several accolades along the way. She is honored to be a member of the KSU Dance Company and looks forward to many dance opportunities in the future.

                                Hope Duncan

                                Hope is a junior dance major with a concentration in ballet. She trained at Dance Dynamics Studio for 10 years where she received versatile dance training. She continues to share her love of dance through collaborating with peers, performing, and teaching. This is her second semester in the KSU Dance Company and she is so excited!

                                  Carmella Durand

                                  Carmella Durand is a freshman dance major with a modern concentration. This is her first semester in the KSU dance company. She began her dance career at the age of 3 and continued her training at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre and The Royal Dance Academy. Carmella is very excited to be a part of company this semester and can’t wait to continue her dance career at KSU dance.

                                    Alexis Farmer

                                    Alexis Farmer is currently a Junior Exercise Science Major with a Dance minor here at Kennesaw State University. She was born and raised in Augusta, Ga where she received intense training in modern dance.  Since the age of 3, she’s always had a love of expressing herself through the movement of her body. “Dance is what sets her soul on fire,” she says. Moreover, Alexis is ecstatic to continue her journey in dance through the KSU’s dance company this spring semester!

                                      Angel Feltus

                                      Angel is a freshman dance minor and Applied Computer Science major at Kennesaw State University. This will be her first semester in the KSU Dance Company. She began her dance career at the age of 5 at Elevated Places Dance Company and was a part of the company there for 11 years. She participated in the Debbie Allen Dance Academy summer intensive in 2015 and the Dance Theatre of Harlem summer intensive in 2017 to further strengthen her foundation. Angel is delighted to begin her experience in the company and see what else is in store in the future with KSU dance.

                                        Chaes Hatfield

                                        Chaes Hatfield began his dance training at age three at his mother’s dance studio, Miss Bridgette’s Turning Point Dance Academy in Cincinnati, OH. He is currently pursuing a BA in Dance at Kennesaw State University on two merit-based dance scholarships. In addition to performing with the KSU Dance Company for the fourth time in his college career, Chaes has performed with Miss Bridgette’s Turning Point Dance Academy (Cincinnati, OH), Gretchen Green School of Dance (Savannah, GA), and Studio 23 Dance Company (Atlanta, GA).

                                          McKinley Horn is a sophomore dance major with a modern concentration. She has been dancing since the age of three and was a member of Bravo Dance Center’s Company for eight years. This will be her second semester in the KSU Dance Company, and she is excited to share the stage with such talented dancers.

                                            Logann is a sophomore dance major with a modern concentration she started her dance career at the age of 3 at Kelly’s School of Dance in Louisiana. She began dancing competitively at 6 years of age. Logann is very excited to be apart of the dance company this semester and is eager to see what else is in store for her in the future with KSU dance.

                                              Allie Hunnicutt

                                              Allie is a sophomore exercise science major with a minor in dance. This is her first semester with the KSU Dance Company. She received her training from the Academy of Dance in Warner Robins Georgia. She was a part of the competition and performance team for 6 years. Allie is so excited to have this opportunity to learn new things and be a part of the spring company.

                                                Anna Jackson

                                                Anna Jackson is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in modern. She trained at Fleetwood Dance Theatre for 15 years prior to her dance career at KSU. This is her third semester being a part of the dance company at KSU. She is very excited to perform in MOON DUST and KSU Dance Company Spring Concert. In the Spring of 2019, Anna was awarded the Outstanding Freshman Dance Major scholarship. Anna hopes to have a career in musical theatre after college.

She began her dance career at the age of 3 at Becky Jones School of Dance and was a part of the company there for 11 years. Ania is very excited to be a part of the company this semester and see what else is in store in the future with KSU dance.

                                                    Myles is a second semester transfer student at Kennesaw State University and is very grateful to be training with the KSU Dance Company this spring! Myles is pursuing a B.A. in Dance with a Ballet concentration, and his end goal is to teach dance in public school systems and to approach difficult political conversations through choreography.

                                                        Emarie is a junior psychology major with a dance minor. This is her first semester dancing with the KSU dance company and her second semester taking dance classes at KSU. She began her dance career at the age of 6 at Techniques School of Dance and was a part of the company for 10 years. Emarie is excited to be a part of the company this semester and see what else is in store in the future with KSU dance.

                                                          Olivia Kraus is a freshman dance major with a concentration in modern. This is her first semester with the KSU Dance Company. She started dancing at the age of 3, spending most of her time at Becky Jones School of Dance where she joined the performance company at age 12. Growing up, Olivia trained in contemporary, ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater. She is excited to be a part of company this semester and is looking forward to growing with KSU dance.

                                                            Breanna is a junior majoring in Dance with a concentration in modern; she is also a Media & Entertainment major as well. She has danced since the age of 3 and has also danced competitively for 9 years before attending KSU. This will be her second semester in the KSU Dance Company, she has also worked on the production crew for the company in past semesters. Breanna is very excited for the opportunity of being a part of company this semester and can't wait for what all the semester brings!

                                                                Simona Lucchi is a junior at Kennesaw State University. This is her fifth semester dancing with the company at KSU. Before dancing at Kennesaw, Simona was a competitive gymnast for 10 years. She is double majoring in dance, with a modern concentration, and journalism. Simona is thrilled to be a part of the KSU Dance C ompany, and hopes to continue for years to come!

                                                                  Brianna is a freshman dance major with a concentration in ballet. This will be her 2nd semester in the KSU dance company. She started dance at the age of 3 and danced with Gwinnett Ballet Theatre for 10 years. She has attended multiple summer intensives including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Southeastern School of Ballet, and Texas Ballet Theatre. She was also invited to take part in Texas Ballet Theatre's professional division during their 2018-2019 season. Brianna is delighted to continue her journey within the company and hopes to broaden her dance abilities.

                                                                    Sierra Mansfield

                                                                    Sierra is a second semester sophomore dance major with a ballet concentration. She started her dance career with Chattanooga Ballet and also danced with Center for Creative Arts for most of her high school career. She was a crew member in the fall of 2018 for the KSU Dance Company and this is her third time performing on stage with the KSU Dance Company. Sierra is looking forward to being a part of company once again and remains excited for future productions.

                                                                      Calla is a technical communications major with a minor in dance.  She began her dance career at the age of three, and trained with the Cleveland Ballet Company and Atlanta Ballet.  Calla is very excited to be a part of the KSU Dance Company this semester and cannot wait to start class and begin rehearsals.

She began her career at the age of 6 at Dance for His Glory located in Woodstock GA, dancing for 13 years. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, and hip hop. Emma is thrilled to begin this journey with the KSU Dance Company and is excited for what the future holds.

                                                                            Layla Muhammad is a junior and also a Dance Major at Kennesaw State University with a modern concentration. She has spent the majority of her life training at Elevated Places Dance Company in College Park, GA. She has danced in Los Angeles for the Debby Allen Summer Intensive, New York for the Dance Theater of Harlem Summer Intensive, and she has also competed in multiple dance competitions across the country.

                                                                                Ellie Olszeski

                                                                                Ellie Olszeski started dancing when she was only three years old at her local dance studio in Roswell, Georgia. She started competing and performing with her company and fell in love with the art of dance. She continued her training with Roswell Dance Starz for fifteen years where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, pointe, and many more styles. She competed in national competitions all over Georgia in group pieces as well as solo works. She started teaching when she was 15 and began choreographing and working with students to share her love of dance. This is Ellie’s second year with the Dance Department and her second semester with the Dance Company. She now serves as the Vice President of the KSU Dance Company and has worked underneath Ivan Pulinkala in his latest work, MOON DUST. She cannot wait to explore new movement with her choreographers this semester.

                                                                                  Katie is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in Ballet. She trained at the Dance Theatre of Dalton for fourteen years, and taught for four years, before coming to Kennesaw State. This is her third time being in company, and she is so excited to be a part of a great show!

                                                                                    Leah Prince

                                                                                    Leah Prince is a current freshman at Kennesaw State University with a double major in dance, with a concentration in modern, and exercise science. She is a native of Augusta, Georgia, where she began her dance studies at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School as a modern dance student, and at Kane and Company Dance Productions as a member of their elite competition team. Leah was also a part of the Georgia’s Governor’s Honors Program as a dance major. Leah is very excited about joining the KSU Dance Company for her second semester in company and can’t wait to continue her dance journey at Kennesaw.

                                                                                      Reagan Replogle

                                                                                      Reagan is a freshman double majoring in dance, with a concentration in Modern, and a Photography major. She began ballet at the age of 3 and has never looked back. She has tumbled and danced competitively for the last 12 years, as well as dancing with her ballet company at MJM Studios in her home town of Florence, Kentucky. Last semester she had the honor of working as stage manager for the production crew at KSU, and she is excited to experience her first semester dancing with the company.

                                                                                        Catherine Sandwich is sophomore nursing major with a minor in dance. This will be her first semester as a part of KSU Dance Company. Her dance training began when she was ten years old at Georgia Academy of Dance and the Performing Arts in Peachtree City, Georgia. By thirteen, she joined the pre-professional company, Georgia Dance Theatre, and eventually was brought on as a trainee with the professional company there. Catherine is excited to see where her future at KSU dance will take her and is eager to see just how much she will grow as a dancer.

                                                                                          Deanna is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in modern dance. This will be her third semester in the KSU Dance Company. For the past 13 years, she danced at Star Dance Studio in Newnan, GA, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. She was also a member of their performance company for 11 years. She now serves as a member of their teaching staff. Throughout her career, she has received many honors and learned so much through her teachers and fellow dancers. She is so excited to be a part of the KSU Dance Company.

                                                                                            Joelle is a sophomore dance major with a modern concentration. She began her dance career at the age of 4 moving around Georgia to different companies finding her home at the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance. Joelle is very excited to be a part of this amazing company and grow with the KSU Dance program.

                                                                                              Julianne is a freshman dance major with a modern concentration at Kennesaw State University. This is her second semester in company. At age 15 Julianne began dancing at Scenic City Dance and immediately fell in love. She began training at many studios and taking every class available as she was a beginner seeking improvement. Throughout the years her passion for dance has only grown, and she is very honored and excited to be in company.

                                                                                                Jada is a sophomore dance major with a concentration in modern. This is her first semester in company, and she has previously worked on the production crew for one semester. She started dancing with Company C, Academy of Dance on the competition team and later danced with Passion Works Dance Academy in Columbus, GA. Jada is super excited to be a part of company this semester and to continue dancing in KSU’s Dance Department.

                                                                                                  Annessa is a freshman double major in exercise science and dance with a ballet concentration. This will be her second semester with the KSU Dance Company. She began her dance career at the age of 3, dancing most recently at the Madison Dance Studio. She was a part of the Madison Dance Studio’s Ensemble for 7 years, the Middle Georgia Youth Ballet for 3 years, and the Nutcracker of Middle Georgia for 8 years. Annessa is very excited and thankful to be a part of KSU’s dance company and ready to continue her dance career.

                                                                                                    Emilie Thuman is a junior dance and nursing major with a ballet concentration. She had danced with Atlanta Festival Ballet with Nicolas Pacana, Altanta Ballet, and Dance Contempra in Peachtree City. This will be her first time participating in KSU Dance Company and is excited for this upcoming semester!

                                                                                                      Gabi Turem

                                                                                                      Gabi Turem has been dancing since the age of 2 in all styles. She became a company dancer at the age of 8 and has been competing since the age of 12. After 14 years at a local studio in Canton she transferred to a more rigorous program at Duet Dance Academy founded by a KSU dance alumni. There she competed at several national competitions and is now the recreational program hip hop teacher. Gabi has also been training at the KSU Dance intensives and winter festivals since her freshman year of high school. She is now a freshman at Kennesaw studying psychology with a minor in Dance. She has completed one semester of production as stage manager and is super excited to be able to have the company experience. She plans to audition for company in the spring semesters to come and continue training with KSU.

                                                                                                        Laura Grace Wenning is a Dance Major with a ballet concentration here at KSU. This will be her third consecutive season performing in the KSU dance company. She received her dance training from Wei Dongsheng at Atlanta Professional Dance Academy and has had the privilege to perform abroad in China. She is looking forward to what the future holds and how she is will be challenged as a dancer and artist this coming season.

                                                                                                          Madeline is a Junior double majoring in psychology and dance with a ballet concentration, and this will be her third semester in KSU’s dance company. She trained at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre for 15 years in ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop. Madeline is thrilled to be a part of the KSU Dance company this semester!

At the age of 13 she transferred to Studio 23 and danced in the company for 5 years. She is genuinely excited to continue her love for dance at KSU.

                                                                                                                Kelsey is a senior dance major with a concentration in modern. She has been dancing for 18 years. She danced with the Charleston Youth Company and Charleston Dance Institute prior to her training at Kennesaw State University. This year, she is the Treasurer of the KSU Dance Company and the Event Chair of the Student Dance Collective. While at KSU she has had the opportunity to study abroad in Israel, training in Gaga, been a part of the production crew and been a part of faculty and student works. This is her fourth semester in the company, and she is very excited to get the opportunity to work with the new faculty member Thang Dao!

                                                                                                                  Ethan is a fourth-year dance major this year at Kennesaw State University. Ethan comes from Elite Dance Academy, Inc. in Phenix City, Alabama, where he was a part of the competition company. Ethan has trained in jazz, tap, musical theatre, heels, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, modern, and jazz funk. Currently, Ethan teaches and choreographs for local studios. Aside from dance, creating in many facets is a huge part of his life. This is his fourth consecutive fall show, making it his sixth semester performing in the company. Ethan is very grateful to perform again with KSU Dance.

She grew up training in many styles and competing within the southeast region with INSPIRE School for the Arts. She began dancing with the Lilburn School of Ballet when she was 5 and continued her training with their company, Northeast Atlanta Ballet from 2010-2018. This is her second opportunity to perform with the Dance Company at KSU. Here at KSU she is looking to broaden her dance experience and become a well-rounded dancer.

This will be her second semester in the KSU dance company. She has been on the production crew as well for a semester. She began dancing at the age of five at various studios. Then, she attended a performing arts magnet program throughout high school before beginning her adventure at Kennesaw State University. Julia is thrilled to be given this amazing opportunity with the KSU Dance Company and she can't wait to see what the future holds for her!

                                                                                                                          Teyla DuBose is a junior dance major with a ballet concentration. This will be her second season in the KSU Dance Company. She started her career at a young age of 3 at Stage Door Dance Studio and later joined British Academy of Performing Arts dancing in company for 10 years. In addition, she was a part of Pebblebrook High school dance program for 4 years and has received several accolades along the way. She is honored to be a member of the KSU Dance Company and looks forward to many dance opportunities in the future.

                                                                                                                            Monika is a Senior Dance Major (ballet concentration) with a German Studies and Geography Double Minor. She was an officer for the KSU National Honors Society for Dance Arts and helped create the new Student Dance Collective organization at KSU. She is excited to pursue her fourth semester as a KSU Dance Company member. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to travel internationally for dance with Atlanta Professional Dance Academy (under the direction of Wei Dongsheng). Monika is looking forward to all opportunities the future may hold!

Nina began dancing at the age of 3 and has most recently trained at Atlanta Professional Dance Academy under the direction of Wei Dongsheng. She’s thrilled to be a part of the company for another semester!

She began her dance career at the age of 3 training with Northeast Atlanta Ballet. She further continued her training at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre. Jewel has attended many intensives with the Joffery Ballet, Orlando Ballet, and the Georgia Governor's Honors Program as a dance major. Jewel is honored to be a part of the company and excited to see what the future holds.

She is a senior, and has had the honor of training with KSU Dance for 3 years. She is pursuing a career as a professional dancer and plans to join an international dance company after graduation. Madison is thrilled about spending her last fall semester in the company, and can't wait to see what opportunities lie ahead for her.

                                                                                                                                    Hadiyah is a new face to the KSU dance company. She is a freshman dance major that graduated from Dekalb School of the Arts, one of the top 10 schools in Georgia. She has performed in numerous ballets as well as choreographed multiple works in the past 3 years. Along with dance Hadiyah has stage managed productions as well as built the sets and hung the lights for productions. She is extremely excited to work in the department this year and hopes you’ll see her many more times on stage in the future.

                                                                                                                                      Chaes Hatfield began his dance training at age three at his mother’s dance studio, Miss Bridgette’s Turning Point Dance Academy in Cincinnati, OH. He is currently pursuing a BFA in Dance at Kennesaw State University on two merit based dance scholarships. In addition to performing with the KSU Dance Company for the Third time in his collage career, Chaes has performed with Miss Bridgette’s Turning Point Dance Academy (Cincinnati, OH), Gretchen Green School of Dance (Savannah, GA), Studio 23 Dance Company (Atlanta, GA), as well as for A Heartbeat Films Production music film in Atlanta, GA.

Michaela will be competing in the 2020 Miss Georgia competition in June where she will share her love for the arts and dance.

She began dancing at the age of three at the British Academy of Performing Arts where she was a part of their pre-professional dance company for 11 years prior to graduating high school. This will be her fifth semester as a member of the dance company at KSU and has also been part of the production crew for two semesters. This year, she has the privilege of serving as president of the new Student Dance Collective at KSU. Lily is thrilled to be a part of the company and cannot wait to see what's in store!

She trained at Fleetwood Dance Theatre for 15 prior to her dance career at Kennesaw State. Anna hopes to have a career in musical theatre after college.

This is his six semester with the company. He is a dance major and is also a modern concentration. He has had the opportunity to film and dance for some major dance companies like Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre, Fly On A Wall, Gotta Dance Contemporary, and GMDT. Darvensky is excited and ready for a challenging semester with the KSU Dance Company.

This is Valerie's last semester performing with KSU and she is very excited to continue her journey after the KSU Dance Company!

She is double majoring in dance, with a modern concentration, and journalism. Simona is thrilled to be a part of the KSU dance company and hopes to continue for years to come.

She has attended multiple summer intensives including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Southeastern School of Ballet, and Texas Ballet Theatre. She was also invited to take part in Texas Ballet Theatre's professional division during their 2018-2019 season. Brianna is delighted to begin her journey within the company and hopes to broaden her dance abilities.

She started her dance career with Chattanooga Ballet when she was young and danced with Center for Creative Arts for most of her high school career. She was a crew member last fall for the KSU Dance Company and this is her second time performing on stage with the KSU Dance Company. Sierra is looking forward to being apart of company once again and remains excited for future productions.

                                                                                                                                                                    Taylor Martin is a Senior at Kennesaw State University. She is a dance major with a ballet concentration. Taylor was born in Michigan and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She trained with the Cleveland ballet and Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theater. Taylor has had the opportunity to dance with the Cleveland Ballet, and the Moscow Ballet. She has been a dance honors society officer and is now the historian for the Student Dance Collective. Taylor is very excited to be dancing with the KSU Dance Company.

                                                                                                                                                                      Mckenzie is an upcoming Sophomore at Kennesaw State University, she is majoring in dance with a modern concentration but is also proficient in many other styles. McKenzie originally trained at West Cobb dance Explosion as a competition dancer, later on she earned a role in a professional contemporary company called Admix Project formally called Gotta Dance Contemporary. She is very honored to be a part of the KSU dance company for a third semester and cannot wait for more opportunities to come!

                                                                                                                                                                        Caroline Mayfield is a senior dance major with a modern concentration at Kennesaw State. This is her fifth semester performing with the KSU Dance Company. She trained with Dance Dynamics Dance Studio as a competition dancer, as well as The Middle Georgia Youth Ballet, and attended the Governors Honors Program in 2014 as a recipient for dance. She is excited to perform for the final time in the fall company and will continue her journey of dancing once she graduates.

Before attending KSU, she trained with Covington Regional Ballet. While she has been here she has had the opportunity to attend the American College Dance Association conference in DC. Last semester she interned with ImmerseATL under the supervision of Sean Nguyen-Hilton and Sarah Hilmer. She is enthusiastic to be able to work with Ivan for her last piece with the dance company.

                                                                                                                                                                            Layla Muhammad is a junior and also a Dance Major at Kennesaw State University in modern concentration. She has spent majority of her life training at Elevated Places Dance Company in College Park, GA. She has danced in Los Angeles for the Debby Allen Summer Intensive, New York for the Dance Theater of Harlem Summer Intensive, and she has also competed in multiple dance competitions across the country.

Alyssa is excited to perform on the stage representing the KSU Dance company for the second time.

                                                                                                                                                                                Ellie Olszeski started dancing when she was only three years old at her local dance studio in Roswell, Georgia. She started competing and performing with her company and fell in love with the art of dance. She continued her training with Roswell Dance Starz for fifteen years where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, pointe, and many more styles. She competed in national competitions all over Georgia in group pieces as well as solo works. She started teaching when she was 15 and began choreographing and working with students to share her love of dance. This is Ellie’s second year with the Kennesaw State Dance Department and her first semester with Dance Company. She is a modern concentration with the department and looks forward to another wonderful season with Kennesaw.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Hoke is a junior dance major with a modern concentration. This will be his fourth semester with the dance company. He began his dance career at nine years old with Rhythm Academy in Toccoa, GA, where he was part of their competition company for eleven years. Hoke then went to Athens, GA where he danced with DanceFX with their company before coming to Kennesaw State. Hoke is incredibly honored to be a part of the company and is excited to see what comes next for him.

With two semesters experience in production, Olivia is excited to be a member of the company and perform in her last semester.

                                                                                                                                                                                          Leah Prince is a current freshman at Kennesaw State University with a double major in dance, with a concentration in modern, and exercise science. She is a native of Augusta, Georgia, where she began her dance studies at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School as a modern dance student, and at Kane and Company Dance Productions as a member of their elite competition team. Leah is very excited about joining the KSU Dance Company for the fall semester and can’t wait to continue her dance journey at Kennesaw.

Shari Purnell is a recipient of dance scholarships such as the Joann Durham Arts scholarship, and the Elio Pomare scholarship. Furthermore, Shari will be representing KSU at ACDA this year as a choreographer, and she is excited for the year to come.

For the past 13 years, she danced at Star Dance Studio in Newnan, GA, where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. She was also a member of their performance company for 11 years. She now serves as a member of their teaching staff. Throughout her career, she has received many honors and learned so much through her teachers and fellow dancers. She is so excited to be a part of the KSU dance company.

Although she is excited to be graduating in December, she will miss her KSU Dance family and is so excited to perform with them one last time!

She is a dance major with a concentration in modern technique. Her training began at five years old in Washington, DC with Black Experience Dance Troupe and Footsteps. Later moving to Georgia at 13, she trained with The Royal Dance Academy. Bre aspires to be a renowned choreographer and creative director after graduating from KSU. She is also highly thrilled to be a part of the dance company and share her gift on stage.

This is Char's third semester in the dance company. Char previously danced with Sugarloaf Ballet for 11 years. When Char was 14, she underwent a spinal fusion to align her spine and improve her scoliosis. She is so thankful to be able continue her career here in the department. Char is excited to be apart of the KSU Dance Company for another semester!

She was a part of the Madison Dance Studio’s Ensemble for 7 years, the Middle Georgia Youth Ballet for 3 years, and the Nutcracker of Middle Georgia for 8 years. Annessa is very excited and thankful to be a part of KSU’s dance company and ready to continue her dance career.

She has also been blessed to work under the direction of Antwan Sessions and his company Lamorris Namari Ballet and is now in her third season. She can’t wait to see what the future holds and how she is will be challenged as a dancer and artist this coming season.

Emily is from Cairo, GA where she also trained before coming up to Kennesaw. Her roles have included: Odette in Swan Lake; Sugar Plum Fairy, Arabian, and Marzipan in The Nutcracker. She has also performed in YAGP and had gone off to summer intensives at The Rock School and Joffrey South. Emily is excited to start her second year in company under the direction of resident choreographer Thang Dao.

She started her dance career at the age of five at Starmaker Dance Company in Ringgold, Georgia. She has been dancing competitively for years and has won numerous awards and scholarships. She enjoys teaching young kids ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. She has had opportunities in dance modeling where she has appeared in publications such as Dance Spirit Magazine, Pointe Magazine, and Dance Magazine. This is Jordan’s third semester of being a part of the KSU Dance Company. She is extremely excited and thankful to be a part of such a wonderful organization.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Mya is a freshman dance major with a ballet concentration. She trained at Dance and Music Academy in Woodstock most of her life, but also danced on and off when she was younger. This is her first semester with the company and she is excited to be apart of the crew and to work with everyone!

                                                                                                                                                                                                                          LaRon Foy is a 5th year, at Kennesaw State University, dance major with a modern concentration. His most recent production credit was heading light and sound design in Theatre Guild Valdosta’s production of The Odd Couple. He has been active in the dance world for 7 years and active in the production world for 5. He would like to thank the cast and other crew members.

She trained at Studio Dance Inc. and has a concentration in modern. It is her first year doing crew for dance and she is excited for all the new experiences that comes with it.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Breanna Legant is a junior at KSU double majoring in Dance with a concentration in modern as well as majoring in Media and Entertainment. She has over 16 years of dance experience, and 10 years of competitive dance experience. This is her third semester being a part of the company and is very excited to be a part of the production crew again.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Dominique is a Junior at Kennesaw State University as a Dance major in a Modern Concentration. This will be her first year working in Dance Production and attending KSU. She has been dancing at the age of 14 and is very excited to be a part of a Production Crew.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Mickel is a senior dance major with a modern concentration. This is her second semester with the KSU production crew and she has also been in KSU dance company for a semester. She began dancing at the young age of 6 at Susan’s Dance Studio while also attending Dekalb Elementary School of the Arts majoring in dance and drama. She was also apart of a traveling dance company while at DESA called Shows To Go. Mickel is extremely estatic to be apart of the production crew this semester and looking forward to new experiences with KSU dance.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Reagan is a freshman double majoring in dance, with a concentration in Ballet, and a Photography major. She began dance at the age of 3 and never looked back. She has tumbled and danced competitivley for the last 11 years as well dancing with her ballet company at MJM Studios in her home town of Florence Kentucky. She is thrilled to be at KSU and to explore the world of production this Fall.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Veronica is a Dance Major at Kennesaw State University and her concentration is in Modern Dance. Her dance practice took place at Academy of Ballet and Dancer's Studio Backstage/Atlanta Dance Theater where she trained in modern, ballet, contemporary, jazz, and other forms of dance. She danced as part of the KSU Dance Company for four semesters and is excited to be a part of crew this semester!

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Emilie Thuman is Junior dance major with a concentration in ballet. She began training at the very young age of 3 at Atlanta Festival Ballet under the instruction of Nicolas Pacana and Gregory Aaron. From then she went on to train with other studios such as Atlanta Ballet and Dance Contempra in Peachtree City Georgia before moving to the KSU Dance Company. This year she has been given the opportunity to work along David Tatu in the Production crew and looks forward to a fantastic year with the KSU Dance Company.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Gabi is in her first semester at KSU as a double major in psychology and dance, with a concentration in modern dance. She started dancing recreationally at Hickory Flat Dance Academy at the age of two and joined their company at the age of eight; she then transferred to a more rigorous studio, Duet Dance Academy, to finish her senior year in a more professional environment. Gabi has been dancing for 16 years, 5 of them competitively, but has also been attending KSU intensives and festivals since the age of 13 and is very excited to be a part of the Dance Major Program and Production Crew. She is looking forward to learning and experiencing new things.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Mary is a Junior dance major with ballet concentration. This will be her second semester in KSU dance company, but first semester working in production. She has danced since she was 2 years old, and has had some prior experience in production, but is so excited to learn even more. She is ecstatic to be working with Mr. Tatu and the rest of the production team this semester!
