Summer Dance Intensive

Please join us June 1-5, 2020!

Registration opens February 1, 2020.

Welcome, Dancers!  

At the 2020 Summer Dance Intensive, you will study with dance professors at KSU and experience classes in modern, ballet, African, jazz, tap, dance history and kinesiology. Faculty will stage choreographic repertory that you will perform in a concert at the end of the intensive. 

The intensive runs 8:30am-4:30pm each day, and includes lunch.

  • • No food or drink allowed inside the dance studios, with the exception of closed water bottles.
    • Changing rooms are available at the dance studio location.
    • All women must wear tights and black leotards. Skirts and shorts are permitted.
    • All men must wear black shorts/pants, black tight-fitting top, and dance belts.
    • All dancers must have soft ballet shoes.
    • Pointe shoes are optional for women.
    • Soft jazz shoes may be worn for jazz and musical theatre technique. No thick rubber-soled shoes allowed.
    • Sneakers are permitted for Hip Hop repertory.
    • Women must have their hair pulled back and secured in a bun.
    • Students must carry a notebook and pencil to all sessions of the clinic.
    • Students who arrive late to class will not be allowed to participate.
    • Students may not leave campus during the course of the day for any reason.
    • Students must be picked up promptly at 4:30 p.m.
    • No visitors are allowed to attend any of the sessions other than the public concert.
